jazzyjoyce: Hi, If you don't mind me asking, where are you from and what is your own personal background with jazz culture?

I am originally from Brooklyn, NY by the way of Memphis,TN.  I was first introduced to Jazz by my Father & Mother who were avid fans. My Father whom was an overall history buff was animated in making us aware of the rich culture by any means necessary. My sister and I were showered with music, books, concerts, etc. and one day we received a piano. My focus shifted from rolling in the grass to rolling down the piano keys. I played myself through High School, College, and landed here in NYC. While I never quite made it as a Full-Time working musician ( a few gigs here and there) I never lost the passion to preach the gospel called Jazz. Through journalism, engineering, and concert promotion I’ve always found a way to let Jazz speak through me. Thanks for tuning in!
